Saturday 16th June 2018. Trip to The Excavation Site of Richard 3rd’s Burial Site & Leicester Cathedral.
This is an all day trip to Leicester for Members of The Great Doddington Heritage Group. The schedule for the day is as follows:-
Arrive at the Richard The Third Excavation Site Leicester at 10am
Talk from one of the excavation Centre Staff.
Tour of the excavation site and a look round the Exhibition Centre,
Take a small lunch nearby,
Visit Leicester Cathedral and take a guided tour.
Leave Leicester at 4pm.
Please note that all arrangements for the visits have been finalised and paid for and we are sorry that we cannot add any additional members to the visiting group.

In conjunction with St Nicholas Church a visit to Peterborough Cathedral. Coach leaves the village at 9.30 a.m. and will leave Peterborough at 4 p.m. Please give names to Barbara Tomkins if interested in going. Depending on the number going the cost will be no more than £20 per person which will include private conducted tour of the Cathedral and the coach.
Thursday 13th September 2018. 7.30pm in The Chapel
Talk by Kevin Varty entiteld “Joined at the Hippo”
The talk is a celebration of the lives and music of Flanders and Swann, a comedy duo who performed mainly during the 1950s and 60s. Michael Flanders was the lyricist and Donald Swann was the composer and pianist. Their stage performances consisted of them singing comedic songs interspersed with comic monologues. They wrote and performed more than 100 songs together.
Charges for the talk are £2.00 for Members of The Great Doddington Heritage Group and £3.50 for Non Members. The charges include refreshments, which will be served after the talk.
Saturday/Sunday 6th/7th October Photo Exhibition in the Memorial Hall

Monday 12th November. A.G.M. to be held in The Chapel rooms at 7.30. Membership renewals will be taken from 7 p.m.
New members welcome.
Saturday/Sunday 17/18 November Exhibition to commemorate the centenary of the end of World War One to be held in the Memorial Hall.
